DECEMBER 13, 2006
-- Rogers,
Ark. -- Sydness Architects has designed Northern Arkansas'
first luxury condo complex, consisting of three buildings and rising 15 stories
tall. Located on Beaver Lake, the 170-acre project is scheduled to break ground
in early 2008, and the first building is slated for occupancy in mid 2008,
George Chin, project manager/architect with Sydness, told MHN.
Named Grandview Heights, the complex will include 360 condominium residences.
One-, two- and three-bedroom units will range from 1,500 to over 3,000 square
feet. E & S Development and Properties LLC, based in New York, is the project
developer.
According to Jeff Sydness, founder of Sydness Architects, the buildings will
feature curved facades, in response to the area’s natural setting, which
includes the lake, hills and lush landscaping. To the pedestrian, the buildings’
top five floors will resemble a staircase, as each floor is slightly smaller
than the next to provide residences with private terraces. All units will
feature balconies.
Sydness Architects’ design for the complex was inspired by a desire to preserve
the lake’s natural beauty. Beaver Lake is a popular destination for relaxation
and water sports enthusiasts. Each building will rise from a base that features
a large, landscaped terrace with a pool and barbeque area. Two-level parking
garages are situated within the base. A network of paths will connect the
development with the lakefront area.
Units will feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls with panoramic views of the lake
and countryside, along with European-style kitchens and bathrooms. Residents
will have access to a spa and concierge service.
