65 Story Office Tower

Landscaped Entry Courtyard

Downtown Brisbane is situated on a peninsula. The new MacArthur Centre, the tallest buidling in the city, will stand at the center of the peninsula next to the MacArthur Chanbers: the offices from which General MacArthur directed the Pacific Theater during World War II.

The new building is sited back from Queen Street, behind a garden court. This Plaza is located on the north side of the building. A colonnade will lead from the street back to the entrance of the lobby.

The building is symmetrical square tower, clad primarily in granite. It sets back gently at the corners as it rises. Vertical spines of granite emphasize the tower’s height while the square windows at the corner sections give the buiding scale. At the top, mechanical spaces in the decorative peaks of the building will be clad in a similar fashion to the office floors below.
