One Detroit Center

One Detroit Center is a one million square foot, forty story office tower in the center of Detroit that has become a landmark on the local skyline. The building’s lobby space was designed with a variety of colored marble types to create the feeling of a paneled room. The scale of the space is relatively intimate for a building of this size, but works very well as a central hub for circulation between the parking garage and the elevator lobbies and creates a good security checkpoint. Jeff Sydness was the design partner in charge of this project for John Burgee Architects, and the developer was Hines.
