New York City Foundation Headquarters Office

Full-floor in landmark tower

Completed 2010

In relocating to an entire tower floor in the landmark 570 Lexington Avenue building, the prestigious Teagle Foundation wanted its new headquarter office to meet two important goals. It should offer a more collaborative environment and reflect the quality that is part of the organization’s mission, promoting the best in higher education. The organization worked with Sydness Architects to achieve just that. Out of several possible layouts, the client selected the plan that gave its staff optimum visibility, good working adjacencies, a large boardroom for meetings, and space for its extensive art collection.

The reception area sets the tone, furnished with classic Barcelona chairs, a rich oriental rug, and behind them a wall paneled in sapele wood. In the work space, glass-walled, open offices face onto a common area with a round conference table for informal meetngs.

Altogether, it is a forward-looking environment that reflects The Teagle Foundation’s mission and meets the needs of a busy work place.
