Townhouse Facade Restoration
Completed 2011
New York City Landmark District Project
The façade of this one-hundred year old townhouse in Manhattan’s Upper Westside Historic District was completely restored under the direction of Sydness Architects. Working with the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission, each of the houses original windows were removed and meticulously restored off site using the one hundred year old bent low iron glass.
The masonry details were also restored to their original condition, as was the inlaid marble floor in the building’s vestibule. Interior woodwork was also restored as part of the overall restoration of this landmark townhouse.
